I think the scripture in Matthew chapter 7 explains it best. I'll paraphrase.
The wise man and the foolish man both built their houses; one on the rock,
one on the sand.
When 'the rains came down and the floods came up,' one house weathered the storms, and the other was washed away.
Well...this is my house, and it's not going anywhere.
Let's talk about my house
For those who are unfamiliar with my faith, here's the basics that you should know. Feel free to ask me more.
1) I am a Christian. Regardless of what other silly things you may have heard. And it hurts when people try to say otherwise.
2) I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and yours, and He is my Savior.
3) I have a loving Heavenly Father who sent His only begotten son so that we may have eternal life.
4) I do not believe that anyone who is not a member of my church will automatically be sent to hell. What about people who never get to learn about Christianity? What kind of loving father would punish his children for something that was completely out of their control?
5) I believe in being baptized, but that is not the end of the road. We are accountable for our own actions and decisions.
6) Like the Christianity issue, it bothers me that I have to say these things as well, so I'm lumping them together: Yes, I do read and study the Bible and believe it to be the word of God. And no, no, no, no, no one in my faith practices polygamy. I promise.
